Missouri, Colton, c. 1856 With an inset for the still sparsely settled St. Louis vicinity, this map for the state well conveys a more primitive time for the "show me" state. Hand colored by county, we see the major roads, railroads, towns, and drainages. Notably its western neighbors include Indian Territory, as well as "Kanzas", spelled with a "z", which is mostly divided into Indian districts. Condition is very good with clean, wide margins.
