D2 came out of the die trade rather than the knife trade. It runs high in carbon and near twelve percent chromium. That chemistry buys an edge that holds through long work. The blade stays plain polished with no layering. Cut vines run along the spine and around the ricasso. A dense engraved panel fills the bolster behind them.
