(1989) Rossini: Il Signor Bruschino, Early One-Act Operas, Vol. 1/5 2 The Schola Romana Lucernensis hasFlorville wants to marry Sofia, Gaudenzios ward. Gaudenzio, however, has already promised her to a certain Signor Bruschino, who is known to all only through letters. Filiberto has locked up Bruschinos son because he owes him a good deal of money. Florville pretends to be Bruschinos son in order to marry Sofia. The deception, confusion and commotion quickly snowball, but marital bliss is found in the end.
