Vintage Levi's "Orange Tab" Denim Bag Metal The bar's slogan is "BetterLevi's was founded in 1853. Levi Strauss and Jacob Davis literally invented the jean with their patenting of copper rivets on denim pants. Now, over a century and a half later, Levi's is synonymous with denim. Starting in the 1960s, Levi's introduced a new orange tab to differentiate denim of new styles, such as flared and boot cut jeans and other denim products like hats and, as featured here, totes. They were modernizing a classic piece of clothing.
