A Rare 1842 Mexican Battle Of Salado Creek In Gold Newly Listed 1) An Italian GIn gold with red and white enamels, measuring 39mm, weighing 7. 6 grams, (obverse; Fought for the integrity of Mexico ) worn, remains very fine. Footnote: The Battle of Salado Creek was a decisive engagement in 1842 which repulsed the final Mexican invasion of the Republic of Texas.
