Niger, Republic. An Order Of Merit, Knight, C.1965 Newly Listed 8 mm (w) x 22(Ordre du Mrite, chevalier). Instituted 24 June 1963 and 11 November 1966. An eight pointed faceted bronze star with bifurcated ends, the obverse centre bears a green enamel and gilt Republic of Niger coat of arms with a white enamel and gilt ribbon below with the inscription MERITE DU NIGER (MERIT OF NIGER), the reverse is plain, laterally pierced ball suspension, on an orange, white and green ribbon, very fine.
