Senegal, Republic. A National Order Of The Lion, I Class Grand Cross Star, C.1960 Newly Listed mounted on a full length(Orden Nacional del Len de Senegal). Instituted in 1960. Four piece construction, star insignia in bronze gilt with red and white enamels, mounted to a silvered and gilt bronze circular base with thirty emanating rays, unmarked, measuring 81 mm in diameter, chipping, crazing and repair evident in the white enamels on the star, very fine. Footnote: The National Order of the Lion was instituted on October 22, 1960 and is awarded in five classes: I Class
