Germany, Heer. An Em/Nco’s M44 Field Cap Auction Archive A 1916 Anhalt Friedrich Cross(Einheitsfeldmtze M44). A very well preserved Heer EM NCOs M44 field cap, constructed of grey brown wool twill. It features fold down side panels, scalloped at the front, offering optional ear and neck protection for the wearer. When not in use, the panels roll up and are secured in place with a single pebbled zink button on the right flap meeting a reinforcement buttonhole set into the left flap.
