Mavis was born in 1945 at New Haven and moved to Ikuntji as a teenager. She began painting at Watiyawanu after her marriage, returning to Ikuntji after the death of her husband. Her designs have walked international fashion weeks. A fluid blend of Tencel and linen lighter and softer than pure
